Lened Rare Earths

The South Lened Rare Earths (SLRE) target is located southwest of Lentung on the ridge across Lened Creek. The property was acquired by claim staking following the 2025 exploration season. The SLRE target is defined by a 3 km-long, highly anomalous cerium (Ce) and lanthanum (La) stream sediment anomaly, including 11 overlimit samples collected during the 2025 field season.
A review of government Regional Geochemical Survey (RGS) data revealed that of the 42,000 samples in the database, the most anomalous sample for rare earth elements La, Ce, Sm, Tb and Yb values came from a sample on South Lened Creek. That sample also contained in the top 5 for rare earth elements (REEs) Eu, Lu, Y and Sc. Thus, the source of the Rackla anomalies and the government anomalies is believed to be the ridge between Lened Creek and South Lened Creek.
The SLRE target is underlain primarily by phyllite of the Vampire Formation and massive dolostone of the Haywire Formation. The Haywire also contains a volcanic member. Two geological models are proposed for the SLRE anomaly:
1. Primary Source Model:
REE mineralization is associated with alkaline or evolved intrusive dykes or a buried intrusive body along the South Lened ridge.
2. Secondary Enrichment Model:
Weathering of REE-bearing bedrock leading to concentration in clay-hosted or placer environments within adjacent drainages.
There is no documented exploration history of the SLRE ridge and little is known about this target. An exploration program is planned in 2026 to determine the source of the REE anomaly and determine whether it represents an economic resource. This program represents a high-impact, early-stage discovery opportunity with potential to define a new REE system in the Selwyn Basin and contribute to critical mineral development in the Northwest Territories.
